Morning comes to the Grand Canyon. An early native serenades the rising sun and the echoes of his flute reverberate from the walls of the canyon. As the sun's rays move across the land the ghostly cactus and sagebrush make shadows on the desert. In the distance the red hills and the high mountains catch the sun and glow with the early morning light. As we climb the mountains the canyons below make leaf-like patterns as small streams join to form creeks and then rivers plunging down to the valleys below. Countless red rock formations dot the valleys as the stately pillars reach for the heavens. Early trails wind through the valleys created by the pioneers making their way to new beginnings. The clear night skies welcome the travelers and it feels as if one could reach up and touch the stars. The open spaces bring a sense of peace to the great southwest and to those who dwell there.
